This string is made specifically for open house stairs, where the treads are housed into the string without the need for wedges. It works equally well as a wall string or outer string and pairs perfectly with our 40mm Open Timber Stair Treads for a clean, secure fit.

Tasmanian Oak (a blend of Eucalyptus delegatensis, obliqua, and regnans) is a light, warm Australian hardwood with creamy straw to pale pinkish-brown tones and a fine, straight grain that finishes exceptionally smoothly. Versatile, stable, and resilient, it machines beautifully and takes stains or polishes with ease, making it a favourite for elegant interior staircases.
