30mm thick solid timber stair nosing, designed to transition the stairs into your finished floor at the top of the stairs. See our stair configurator for custom floor finishes and custom strings to match.

Dimensions & Profile:

  • Thickness: 30mm
  • Width: 110mm
  • Overhang/Nosing: 20mm
  • Front Edge: Attractive 6mm pencil round nose profile
  • Underside: Features a 20mm wide riser groove precision-milled to securely accommodate standard 18mm thick risers
  • Floor Finish: Premade for a standard 12mm floor finish, with flexibility to be packed up using packers or cut down on-site to suit varying upper floor thicknesses

This nosing is designed for the top step of closed housed stairs (traditional enclosed designs with visible strings) or closed sawtooth stairs (cut stringer styles with invisible strings), providing a professional finish where the staircase meets the upper floor. It integrates seamlessly with our 30mm standard treads and 18mm risers for a cohesive look.

  • Easy installation with pre-machined groove for quick riser fitting
  • Smooth, sanded surfaces ready for your choice of stain, oil, or clear finish

Available in both 1m and 1.5m lengths to suit your project. All products are delivered raw, pre-finished sanded to 100 grit.

Pacific Oak, also known as Kembang Semangkok (Scaphium spp.), is a versatile Southeast Asian light hardwood with warm yellow-brown to light buff tones and a straight to shallowly interlocked grain that creates an attractive, subtle figure. It offers reliable strength, good stability, and excellent machining properties—making it easy to work with for precise stair components. Ideal for interior stair treads, risers, stringers, handrails, and balustrades, Pacific Oak provides a clean, elegant look with natural warmth that suits modern, coastal, or contemporary Queensland designs. Its cost-effective performance and smooth finish make it a practical choice for durable, stylish stair systems that age beautifully.
